Mission Camp Analysis

The summer of 2013 was a huge life-changing personal triumph. My church offered me to attend a mission camp with them called Mfuge, The camp involves a lot of ministry work, group worship, and personal group bonding activities so everyone felt comfortable and welcomed. The first day my group got assigned to go out to a lower poverty neighborhoods local park and spend the day with the kids. Seeing every single kid smile, laugh and have the best time of their lives there was never a dull moment. It really opened my eyes to how sometimes the smallest things can make someone feel amazing, and how grateful we should be for everything we have because sometimes in the darkest moments we take that for granted. These kids would sit down and just want to feel the attention from someone and have someone be a friend to them. Most of the …show more content…

While everything was getting put together the kids were so excited, We did arts and crafts and outdoor activities for the whole day, As much as it was tiring I had so much motivation to make sure these kids all had the best time before we had to say goodbye. Getting able to share moments with these kids was an experience that has changed how I see things in life, A lot of people don't know what its like to grow up around that and make horrible judgments and presuppositions towards the lower class and never give them a chance. These kids were some of the kindest loving kids I've ever been around, Being able to become a leader to kids who experienced trauma and watch my fellow group show guidance and love to kids who may never have that in their life again was life-changing. From the moment I got back home I knew that I wanted to continue to bring out awareness to these kids, I stayed involved in ministry work and brought more people alongside of

This picture shows me as well as a couple of my friends getting camouflage face paint at my 2nd grade birthday party. Just like every other kid's birthday party there was a theme. If you didn't have a theme back then, your party was lame, so mine was Army Training Camp. Unlike most parties though, with simple invitations, a few themed banners, and a classic game of pin-the-tail on the donkey, mine was legitimate. And by legitimate, I mean the most accurate portrayal of a soldiers experience during training camp, without the explicits obviously.…
