People get sick, and you can't come to school if you are sick. Another one is that a lot of kids have counseling or court or some kind of appointment that causes them to miss school. One other thing is that even if that law is enforced they should not fine the parent for their children missing school. The first reason they should keep the law the same is that people get sick. If you are sick you can't come to school because you could spread the sickness you have. Also most of the time when you are sick your whole body hurts so you wouldn't want to come to school and walk

Christopher A. Mallett, wrote the article called Truancy: It’s Not About Skipping School. He defines truancy as “the habitual, unexcused absences from school, exceeding the maximum set by state law” (Mallett, 339). He explains that this is a problem because the appropriate approaches are not being taken to prevent this action among children and adolescents. Two very different approaches have been examined and we must use examples to discover the best way to fix the problem of truancy. The reason why i think us kids should get paid to go to school is because like school is just like work and when you are at work you get paid. Might as well say we are going to work with all that stuff we do. What is a school without punishment, if a kid makes a bad grade or office he/she will be charged because with the bad grade we will have to hire a tutor for that student an he or she will have to pay for the hours the tutor is here.…

A recent discussion has came up about how some schools in the eastern part of America have made the rule that if a student isn’t maintaining a 2.00 GPA or higher, their licenses can be revoked. While this is difficult for some people around the country to come up with an agreement on, many people disagree with it. Taking away a student's car for getting bad grades is an unfair idea. Granted, taking away a student's car because they are getting bad grades might make the student try harder in school. Yes, if student notices themselves getting bad grades, it could possibly motivate them to work harder in school and show more effort.…

If school is all year round there will be drastic changes in the american lifestyle. For example school being all year round would be a problem for children because year round school will not give students enough family time. This is the case because sometimes parents like to take a vacation, or a break once in awhile. Therefore the government should let schools have a break during the school year so that children can have time to spend with family and friends. There are many more problems such as parents would have to make scheduling adjustments, and year round school won’t give students enough time to spend with family and friends, and year round school would cost more money.…

I looked at the truancy law in the state and other states and was able to see that the current one was ineffective. However, I was very puzzled as to how I should amend the law because there were many different directions I could go in. At first, I suggested making the punishments harsher for parents, but I then realized that this is not a good idea because punishing parents will not get the student to go to school. I then realized that the student needed to be the one taking responsibility for their education because they are the one who needs to get an education. In addition, parents are not able to watch their child 24/7, especially high school students, so they should not be responsible for keeping them in…

As a high school student, I appose the thought of not letting students with a licence drive to school because of where they live in the bus district. Some examples of why that's a bad idea is first, there would be a demand for more buses. Also, the thought of a school telling students that can legally drive that they are not aloud to is a dumb move. Morning's before school can be a hassle. This is another good reason why schools shouldn't have the authority over if a student can drive to school or not.…
