Have you ever wondered how if what other people thought of you is the exact way you are? In the story “ The possibility of evil” by Shirley Jackson an elderly lady named Miss Strangeworth is the complete opposite of what the people in her town expected. She happens to be a brutally honest person at the wrong time. Miss Strangeworth’s character can be analyzed by considering what she does and says, what the character says about her, and how other characters interact with her. Miss Strangeworth’s character can be analyzed by considering what she does and says, by her being “honest”. She is in other words “ brutally honest” to be more specific. To demonstrate , “ Martha”, she said “you don’t look well” “I’m perfectly all right” Mrs. Sharp said shortly. This indicates her being brutally honest at the wrong times. In addition, “ A princess can be a lot of trouble sometimes”, Miss Strangeworth said dryly. “How old is her highness now”, “Six months next Tuesday”, Helen Craine said.
