On personal projects, I make sure to place my best foot forward and work with enthusiasm. In group work, I always provide humor as well as discipline, and I try to encourage fellow students to work hard.

Two books I recently read outside of school are “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” by Ransom Riggs and “March: Book One” by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, and Nate Powell. While these books are very different, I especially enjoyed both for their intriguing plots and stunning detail. While “Ms. Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” is a fantastic fictional novel, “March” is a graphic novel of the historical first-hand account of United States Representative John Lewis.
“Ms. Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” is a book about super-human children who are hunted by monsters. It places an interesting twist on time, creating a chronological “loop” that repeats the same day in the 1940s infinitely, until the main character, Jacob, accidentally leads a monster to the entrance of this time loop. This book is a fast-paced, unique novel that presents an unexpected, peculiar journey for the modern day generic teenager. I learned on my tour that BUA is discussion based and hands on, which is the way I like to learn. There also is a wide variety of courses and electives that are available to each student, including college courses that are integrated into their schedules. The many programs that were offered provided endless opportunities for a high school experience which was very appealing. It also a place where students with many interests can thrive, as one has many options for different clubs. When I visited the school, my two tour guides were both academically engaged learners and also had many interests outside of school. I aspire to attend a high school that gives a healthy learning experience both inside and outside the classroom, and Boston University Academy appears to provide this to
