This is a comparison of the song “Miss Jackson” originally done by the artist Outcast and then later remade by the cover band The Vines. Both versions, are themed about a man’s conflict with a girl and her mother. The original version is rap while the cover version released by the vines is rock. Outcast’s message is that he wants to right his wrongs and that he deserves to be involved his child’s life. The Vine’s version has a more simple meaning of simply wanting forgiveness and girl back. Some of the major differences between the two songs are genre, lyrical arrangement, and tone. The difference between Rap and rock are expressed perfectly in these two version of the song “Miss Jackson”. Outcast expresses the rap culture perfectly talking about the conflicts that come with being a rapper. The vine’s rock version is a bit slower and simpler getting directly to the point. These two genres, being so different give the listener completely opposing ideas about each song. …show more content…
The Vines version is more depressing, repeating the verse “I'm sorry Ms. Jackson I am for real Never meant to make your daughter cry I apologize a trillion times ” like they desperately desire forgiveness and need the girl back into their life. Oluwatomiwa Alabi 1/25/2017 A.P History Dr. Carter The Age of Jackson has never been easy to outline. It was Broader than his reign of presidency (1829–1837), and narrower than his life, it roughly described the third, fourth, and fifth decades of the nineteenth century. While some historians have attempted to define this era as the Age of Amelioration, or Democracy, or the Market Revolution, no name has ever portrayed more of the era’s energy, upward aspiration, and general apprehension than that of Jackson himself. His election in 1828 launched the Age of Jackson, and terminated the great Era of Good Feelings, then his death in 1845 and the Mexican War that immediately followed it might be considered the era’s close.…
