We rode on wagons, we walked on roads and hidden paths. We traveled with men on gallent quests, and met beautiful gypsies who danced long into the night. But as soon as Miss Ida saw any soldiers in uniform, we backtracked and switched our route.
One dark and eerie night as we were hunched down by our small fire, I dared ask the question that had been eating at me since the day Miss Ida ran through the market and ripped me away from my happy life.
“What are running from Miss Ida?” My voice was barely more than a whisper.

I stood close to her as she mumbled an ancient incantation, “guide us past our enemies, and hide us from our foes, make us invisible to anyone who sees.” As she finished a silvery blanket appeared above and draped around us, then dissolving. The spell was complete, no one could see us. Yet my organs still shifted.
Protected from human eyes we started into the clearing. I clung to Miss Ida. We were completely silent. When we reached the middle of the field I stopped. Rooted to the spot I stared into the trees.
