The misrepresentation of credentials is a dilemma that would seem like important topic for any hiring manager to be aware of. Not only aware of it but to also have the ability to implement the proper system in place for address this issue should it arise. While it would be ideal for all candidates to be honest and forthcoming that might not be the case in all situations. According to Smith (2012) misrepresenting credentials are considered to be unethical and could cost an employee their job or potential employee their job opportunity (para 7).
