PLAINTIFFS’ INTERVIEWS I am also a victim of the Doctor’s Associates Inc.’s false advertisement. They even used my favorite athlete to promote their healthy footlong subs. I was very excited to buy my favorite sandwich from Subway. I fell in line and paid for the sandwich that I ordered but when I got it, I was disappointed because it was definitely shorter than one foot! As I understand, a footlong sub should measure 12 inches that's why I took out my measuring tape when I got home to see if my suspicion was correct.…

Unfortunately, these new guidelines instead resulted in an increase in major drug manufacturer’s direct access to its consumers with a focus of increasing sales, rather than increasing consumer understanding (328). In Direct-to-Consumer Prescription Drug Advertising and the Cultivation Theory, Ashley A. Wood reported an increase of direct-to-consumer advertising in the United States:…

Every day we are exposed to an unfathomable amount of advertisements, yet for one reason or another there are a select few that we cannot seem to forget. As for me and my wife there is one advertisement that we both saw for the first time on Fox Sports 1 during a commercial break for a Monster Energy Supercross Event that has resonated in our minds. As I take you through my analysis, we will discover that both my wife and I remember the commercial for differing reasons. The advertisement that we will evaluate throughout this analysis was published on February 24, 2015 by Discount Tire, featuring their two sponsored supercross racers at that time (Chad Reed and Josh Grant) with their sons. When a phone company puts out an advertisement, their main goal is to promote a message to prevent such tragic events from occurring in society. There are many advertisements trying to grab the audience’s attention to make a difference. In this advertisement, AT&T, uses a real life situation to show the audience how risky it is to use your phone while driving. Since AT&T is a major phone seller, they take advantage of that to reduce the number of accidents in a majority of people to make sure that the products that they sell aren’t a major cause in deaths. I believe that this advertisement is very effective, because not only does it provide a message to the audience, but it may save many lives as well.…

Question 1 Introduction Businessman and consultant Michael Philips ' essay “The Inconclusive Ethical Care Against Manipulative Advertising” provides a nuanced and compelling critique of ethical criticisms against manipulative advertising. While nevertheless conceding that the practice of manipulative advertising itself is problematic and unethical, he suggests that the premises upon which ethical criticisms of this practice rest are logically flawed, and fail to provide a cogent critique of how advertising apparently “socializes people to a life of consumption” (Phillips 37). Critics of manipulative advertising are cited by Phillips as couching their critiques within the language of ethics, a phenomenon which he believes fails to adequately…

While getting further into the depth of the course has to offer we have been taught to critically look and analyze and filter Ads, articles, papers that are gender related. After frantically looking for the perfect Advertisement we could analyze for this project, we found a Tom Ford Advertisement online. Usually, before really understanding the grievance of the message trying to pass across, I would overlook the very most detail of this Advertisement.
