A example of mis-en-scene in the movie was when Amelie and her father eating lunch together at the dining table. In this particular shot one of the props that stood out was Amelie’s green shirt, the lettuce, the red fabric in the bread basket and a red pot hanging on the wall. Not only that, but even though the characters aren’t exactly facing each other, the direction their facing creates this perpendicular direction that helps visually bring the characters and dialogues together. Another example of mis-es-scene was when Amelie was in the movie theater. In that scene Amelie is seated watching a movie. Everything is dark in this shot except for Amelie’s skin standing out in a bright and cool light blue tone. And because of that, the movie jumps from the view of the world seen normally to how Amelie view the world. An example to prove that is the scene where Amelie was watching television, she invisioned herself of what her life would be like. Another example was when Amelie was reduced into a puddle when she saw Nino leave the restaurant to visually show how she was feeling internally.
The actress, Audrey, did an excellent job in playing as an introverted and becomes developed enough to stand out. When the viewers see Amelie when she was an adult, she was strange and different, like many of the other characters. But at the same time she did not seem to have close interactions with characters other than her father. But in time, she managed to open up to another character and show genuine human emotion. There’s also two other characters in the film who are similar to Amelie and one of them is her neighbor Raymond Dufeyal, and her love interest Nino Quincampoix. Raymond Dufeyal is almost like
