Annie's Flashbacks

Annie has a total of four flashbacks in the screenplay The Miricle Worker but why do they happen and why are they so important to helping us see into Annie's personality.

The first flashback happens when Annie is about to leave Perkins School for The Blind, the blind children at the school are saying goodbye to her. This flashback is when Annie and her little brother Jimmie first arrive at Tewksbury, this is the first of Annie's flashbacks. This flashback happens because Annie is leaving her home at Perkins which wasn't always her home, this reminds her that she needed to try to make a home out of Tewksbury with Jimmie. This flashback is important because it shows how Annie was in the same situation as Helen,
