Miracle mineral solution; a fallacy?
What if we wake up to a world in which we do not have to worry about getting sick; a world where we only need to take a few drops of a home-made solution to get healed from any kind of infection? Certainly, this is a world everyone would wish for. Apparently, Archbishop Jim Humble promises to make this dream a reality with what he refers to as “miracle mineral solution" or MMS. Jim claims that this solution can cure dozens of diseases such as cancer, aids, malaria, autism, and hepatitis among others. Not so fast though. The FDA and other renowned medical bodies has warned people against taking the solution since it has been shown to be toxic and has devastating effects on the body.
In particular, MMS is a toxic chemical solution that comprises of sodium chlorite dissolved in water. Essentially, the components of the solution are the same as those contained in industrial bleach. The product has been falsely promoted as a cure of a many of diseases, and in his book, Jim Humble claims to have saved hundreds of thousands of lives using this solution. In Africa, for example, Jim claims the solution has healed over 800 HIV/AIDS cases.

In reality, the bleaching agent that Jim refers to as MMS is normally used in bleaching of flour and disinfecting water. In fact, this product is attributed to the harmful nature of processed carbohydrates. Seemingly, Jim bases his claims on the fact that the product is used as a disinfectant in different situations. But does it mean one can drink the domestic antiseptic to treat internal wounds? Certainly, this would not be practical. Undoubtedly, Jim's line of thinking is
