A few of my experiences as a hospital volunteer included being a member of the Reach Out and Read program, which entitled interacting with children by reading books, playing games, and talking with children who were waiting to be seen; organize supply cabinets preparing them for chemotherapy sessions; and providing company for bedridden patients. . I found the encouragement, strength and determination in all those situations to push forward and succeed. All the above-mentioned challenges at one time did defer me from my dreams of becoming a physician, but I believe that working at Kent County Community School with special education needs students helped me to reignite the flame and passion to become a physician. Watching the students be resilient and not letting their conditions limit them reminded me daily that everyone should be able to live up to their full potential—education and health
