Students who go to less-diverse schools have lower chances of success than those who have diversity. A study done in 2010 shows that the average African-American student in New York attends a school that only 18% of their classmates are Caucasian. The final article viewed; “American Schools Are STILL Racist, Government Report Finds” written by Joy Resmovits outlines that black students are suspended or expelled over more than three times the rate that white students are. 7% of black students in the education system attend schools where over 20% of teachers do not meet state education standards, which in return, causes many of these minority group students to drop out of class. There was an act passed way back in 1964, which was to guarantee equal access to education for any child. If these people did not comply, they were often killed, as they were not worth much value. Once a law was created in America abolishing slavery, many blacks could not get jobs, as they were still considered ‘slaves” by the white locals. It was very common for these former slaves to continue working for their past owners, for little pay; just so they could say that they had a job. Because of the past slavery, black people to this day are still viewed as inferior to whites, even though they may have high incomes and nice properties.
