I think that each and every student carries within them a diversity that makes them absolutely essential. All of us, have the beauty of unique life experiences, making us invaluable conduits for learning. Take me for example, I like to cheekily describe myself as ‘Made in Colombia, but assembled in Miami’ - Why? Because that is so much a part of who I am. A Hispanic female, who warred with who I was born being, and who my Miami community forged. Tackling issue of self worth and identity with every added birthday candle. It’s what makes minorities so important, so fascinating, because we straddle worlds, just like we share nationalities.
