On the Economic Policy Institute’s web site, there is an article entitled "Economic research supports raising the minimum wage.", written by Mr. Ross Eisenbrey, a former commissioner of the U. S. Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission and is presently the vice president of the Economic Policy Institute (2012).
The Economic Policy Institute is an American based non-profit intellectual thought and data analysis processing center, head quartered in Washington, D. C. for the past decade. The Institute has presented liberal views on a wide variety of economic issues concerning jobs, wages, taxes; labor policy; trade and globalization.

Using data provided by the U S Census Bureau, professors Johnathan Meer and Mr. Jeremy West findings concluded that increases in the minimum wage do adversely affect employment dynamics and leads to a reduction in net job growth through the stifling effects it has on job creation by expanding establishments” (2013).
According to Mr. Ross Eisenbrey, those modest increases in the minimum wage have shown no significant negative effect on employment. Mr. Eisenbrey refers to the empirical historical research and studies of other economists to help substantiate this premise. An extensive study referred to by Mr. Eisenbrey had been completed by Dr. Sylvia A. Allegretto and her colleagues Michael Reich and Arindrajit Dube for the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment at the University of California, Berkeley.
