Minimum Wages Policies
Do you work? If so, how much do you get paid per hour? Minimum wage was created to ensure workers that they are getting paid enough for their work and to protect employee’s rights. Minimum wage refers to the lowest hourly, daily or monthly salary that employers may legally pay to workers. It was first introduced nationally by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt as a Federal Minimum Wage in 1938. It was the newest workers rights policies in the United States and countries around the world. Minimum wage also affect to an average family as well as society. On the other side, non-supporters of the minimum wage says it grows property and unemployment, especially who has no experiences and unproductive, and businesses is going down and damaging. People are never feel sacrificing and the procedure of finding a perfect amount of minimum wage to please both are really far away. In most cases in the United States, everyone as workers must be paid no less than the requirement minimum wage. As we discussed in class textbook, The Politics of Power: A Critical Introduction to American Government, Chapter 1 Democracy’s Challenge, as it states in the textbook, the United States government is split-up into three different branches of power. The legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Also, according to the textbook in Chapter 4 Political Parties and Elections. The United States government is running on a two party systems: the Democratic and Republican parties. Since the United States federal minimum wage was created in 1933, had increased from 25 cents to $7.25 per hour as of July 2009.
