Minimum Wage Benefits

I believe that servers should be paid the higher federal minimum wage for non-tipped employes. Servers, even if they give good service, are often under tipped and in some cases, not tipped at all. As cost of living increases, a servers pay also should increase just as any other workers would when minimum wage is increased. In my expeirance, most servers at least try to do their job well. Being a server is a hard job. I personally, have rarely had a server that didn't a good job, and yet many people only leave a dollar or two, in some cases, nothing at all. Often times, a server will work long hours dealing with people who aren't the kindest to them. People don't think about the fact that they are taking care of more than one table. If

Not to mention, that inflation has increased prices by 75% in these past twenty-four years. Waffle Now servers need a pay raise in order to have a livable wage.…

Being able to successfully pass legislation to increase the minimum wage is difficult because of opposer's claiming that Increasing the minimum wage will result in less jobs and less hours available to other workers. They also claim that with the sudden increase of the minimum wage will create profit loss on some companies. Opposers of this issue are mainly businessmen, which Mitchell Englander a businessman stated by saying “I know firsthand about the struggles that business owners and their employees face every day. I've had days when paying my employees meant that I did not take my own paycheck” (Englander). Mr. Englander, had difficulties sometimes paying his workers, that he had to take money out of his own pocket and pay his workers,…

    Increase Minimum Wage

Lately in the United States a very controversial topic has been minimum wage. Many people within the country argue whether or not it should stay the way it currently is or have an increase in how much it pays. I believe there should not be an increase to minimum wage. If there is an increase to minimum wage many fast food places would be encouraged to speed up the process of automating their ordering service to be able to save money by not having to pay workers. An increase to minimum wage will also cause job opportunity for low skilled workers and then harder to find a job that would be better for them to be able to live well.…

Millions of people are barely making enough of money to ends meet. That is why the minimum wage should be increased to $15 so people can have a living wage. In the text, the author mentions, ”Walker is one of several million low-income workers across the nation who subsist, barely, on or below the federal minimum wage of $7.25”(Jarvie, J.,2016, PG.1). After all, people can no longer live on the wage that they live in right now. The point of the minimum wage provides a salary so people can pay bills, buy good and services, and provide for their family.…

As someone who makes his living on mostly tips it might sound obvious that I don’t want the tipping system banned, but there are a lot of people out there that think it should be. People argue that tipping is unreliable and unpredictable and that an hourly fixed rate would be better for servers. The truth is that tipping is not as unpredictable as people think and is actually much better for servers than a fixed hourly rate As a delivery driver, I have noticed a pretty big difference between the quality of my service and how much people tip. If I get there early people normally give me a better tip, and if I’m really late, I’ll get a smaller tip or no tip at all. The same thing happens with waiters and waitresses in restaurants, better service…
