A governmental program in Brazil, Minha Casa Minha Vida (MCMV), gives lower income households housing using credit from CAIXA (bank owned by the government). And those with higher incomes, at a low rate interest loans, all of the houses running mostly on solar thermal. Since 2011, when all low income homes were given solar thermal, and 2009, when many were given solar water heaters. This is due to the rising cost of electricity making housing projects working hard to find more energy efficient measures in their projects. And by using these forms of energy production, they are able to 20% larger and allow for higher volumes of sale. With the success of the program, CAIXA hopes to by 2018 to provide for 3 million more homes from the current number

Hi Professor, Certainly, no data mining, business intelligence, or predictive analysis can be successfully accomplished without relevant data that assure the program integrity: • The USDA needs relevant sources to determine actual income from applicants in order to determined true eligibility. The unemployment office, the banking sector, and the credit score agencies could provide some of this information. • The USDA needs to track down the purchases from the SNAP participants (EBT card) in order to detect abusers from buying more items that the ones needed (baby formula). The USDA could stablish data transfers from participating stores to collect such information. • In my last company unemployment hearing, an ex-employee declared leaving the…

As a lifelong resident of the Napa Valley I have always admired Clinic OLE'S dedication to the community. For many of us in the community "La Clinica Ole" was the only medical resource available, not only for its affordability, but also from a cultural/language comfort aspect. The doctors and staff were the only ones that offered the community a safe place where they could be cared for. It has been wonderful to witness how Clinic Ole has developed over the years, from a small traveling operation to its current sites and multiple locations. I understand the demand is still high and the need for expansion is still needed, and I would like to be part of it and help the organization meet its goals.…

Hello Maricela, I too related the two court hearings to a theme. Abner seems to dislike being inferior to others, and acts out when he feels someone is belittling him. For instance in the first court hearing Mr. Harris impounds his pig and holds it for a dollar fee. To Abner this must feel like a reminder of his poverty. Making him feel, in a sense, worthless compared to the rich landowner.…

Rogers emphasizes that, “…Within five to seven years people can save enough money on electric bills to match the cost of a Blue Ion system.” Because the solar panels can last up to 20 years, they will save nearly double the cost compared to expanding energy from the power grid. In addition, these savvy photovoltaic cells use Sony lithium phosphate batteries allow for a reputable electrical density and demand no cool down time. Unlike most photovoltaic systems used for residential use, which use net metering, or the ability to ambidextrously alternate between the solar panel’s energy supply and the local grid, Roger’s solar array was sufficient to continuously supply and store enough power for the entire house. Solar arrays prove, in the long run, that they can not only compensate for their titanic cost, but also save thousands of…

However, as I said in my initial post, it helps when the individual has a good support system, and it seems as if Jack has some dedicated parents that really put a lot of time, effort, and care into his well-being.…

So, my question is; if we care so much about the mental health crisis; why invest on a jail that provides mental health service instead of investing on mental health facilities in the area? That along will reduce the jail population. Make a smaller investment on the new place to move those that actually need to be in jail into the new facility. First response, included a reference to Journey Mental health. The current process of handling arrests where the offender is intoxicated it involves taking the offender to the hospital, Journey and/or Winnebago.…

In order to have effective instruction, it is crucial that teachers have an understanding of child development. Throughout their years in school, children experience a myriad of social, emotional, and behavioral changes. Teachers should implement research based strategies in order to develop a caring learning environment so these changes can take place alongside learning. In the case study “Another Typical Day,” Mrs. Arling must ensure her students are making academic progress; however, she still must attend to the social and emotional needs of her student. Countless studies show that the most effective way to provide instruction is to introduce it in a concrete way; once students have an understanding, only then can they understand it pictorially.…

The Mara Salvatrucha, or MS13, is perhaps the most prominent street gang in the western hemisphere. While their origins start in the poor, refugee-laden areas of 1980s Los Angeles, the gang's reach now extends from the Central American nations like El Salvador, through Mexico, the United States, and into Canada. MS 13 was founded in the 1980’s in the barrios of Los Angeles. During this time there was a civil war going on between El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, so the refugees traveled northward into the mostly Mexican barrios of East LA. We know that the Mexican gangs reigned in this local area, but these coldhearted immigrants quickly organized themselves into groups, and the strongest became Mara Salvatrucha.…

In an article it states “A recent study from the University of California at Berkeley indicated that solar equipped homes in California sold for $17,000 more than comparable homes without solar. And a study from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory found that solar homes sold 20% faster and for 17% more”. This information indicates that having solar panels equipped on a home makes it more valuable and easier to sell ("10 Reasons for Going…
