Relaxing and taking the time to actually understand the material, its relevance and its placement in the entire scope of things cannot be overlooked. Yet, mindfulness is not simply about settling the mind and coming at peace with yourself simply for law school. Thus far, second semester has had more reading, more case briefing, and yes, more outlining then that of first semester. I’m not yet sure if that’s because I know what I am doing now, if there is more material, or if it’s a combination of both. I do know however that you have to give yourself a break from such things. That is where mindfulness is most crucial. To me mindfulness is about centering and coming to terms with yourself. Taking some short breaks or sometime off for myself will be a big step in helping me overall this semester. Through mindfulness I will reassess my position. I will recognize that yes, if I spend six to eight hours in the library a day, I can take Sunday off and relax and work on myself. I think often when in a competitive type of environment like law school, people forget that the entire purpose of school in general is to improve and get better inside and outside the classroom. So this semester I will strive to put in the work during the semester to improve my GPA, but I will also remember that its ok to take a break every once in a while and not run myself into the
