Mindful Meditation Research Paper

The last few weeks I have been trying several approaches towards meditation, and I believe I have found a couple approaches the really work well for myself. I have an extremely busy schedule and find myself stressed out thinking about the objectives I set for myself. For this reason, I have strategically set aside certain times where I will meditate in order to alleviate that stress and filter it into refreshing my body and my brain.
Since the beginning of the class I have made it a goal of mind to learn how to become more mindful. I believe that this trait is going to help me growth in regards to my personal reflections, working with others, and becoming the leader I am striving to be. I did some research online and found an interesting article that explained the importance of mindfulness meditation. The article explained that instead of focusing on any one object, monitor all of our thoughts without judgement or attachment. I have found this method to be very beneficial. When walking into the gym, I become very distracted. There are many people, lots of noise, and many movements happening all around me. I have come to terms that I become distracted very easily and that this distraction hinders my performance in many parts of my life including school and workouts. For this reason I have started meditating before my workouts. In fact, I do it at the gym. I read an article about an approach that stretches muscles and increases focus through meditation. I begin by focusing my energy towards the muscle group I plan to work on. As I inhale I flex that particular muscle group and release the tension through my exhale. I slowly add stretches into the mix and repeat the motions for about 10 minutes. This practice has improved my running times and I feel less sore at the end of each
