To improve my physical health, yoga and mindful eating can have a helping hand in doing so. A similar study was conducted by Martin, Prichard, Hutchinson and Wilson (2013) who hypothesized that the amount of time consumed by an individual while performing yoga or any form of exercise can have a connection to a greater mindful eating, which, includes consuming healthy food and lowering the need to consume unhealthy food. To change my physical health, while doing yoga I will engage in a series of techniques three times a week for 45 minutes. …show more content…
Being conscious of what food and the amount of food I consume plays a part into my physical health. In a related research, Gilbert & Waltz (2010) indicated that the more awareness and self-control one has can greatly impact that individual, so they’re able to regulate and monitor their dietary consumption and their engagement in physical activities. The psychology behind it shows that, as suggested by (Gilbert and Waltz, 2010), mindful awareness in everyday life results to some relations to some particular health behaviors. I come home from work at 6:00 pm every day during the week, and right after I get off from work I make sure to eat my dinner on the table. When I’m done eating I allow an hour to go by so that I’m able to digest my food properly. I then engage in some moderate yoga in my backyard. Before this project I usually would do yoga here and now and again for 15 minutes but now I do it for at least 45 minutes. I’ll perform my yoga procedures for three days out of the week and if I’m feeling even more optimistic I’ll extend it to maybe four minutes or so. I even keep a personal organizer to record everything I do on a daily when it comes to eating. My daily notes consist of me jotting down the type of food I eat in the morning and the type of food I eat in the evening and where I am at that time in my notebook. Also I write down the amount of food I eat when I go out and the time I consume that food. Body image wise, I use a measuring tape to see whether my abdominal region have changed in anyway and a scale to see if there’s any weight changes. With the measuring tape and the scale, I write down in a separate notebook whether there’s any progress or
