Also confidence build and enhance achieving goals successfully " it's just as important to build self-confidence by setting and achieving goals" ("Building Self-Confidence - Stress Management Skills from Mind Tools", (n.d.), para.48).

I can improve my leadership abilities using the resources recommended. For example, "Heron's model has two basic categories or styles – "authoritative" and "facilitative." Those two categories further break down into a total of six categories to describe how people intervene when helping." ("Heron's Six Categories of Intervention - from MindTools.com", (n.d.), para.6) that can help me to improve the mechanism I used to prove help to others .
Also, leading by example is a good aspect I learned to improve my leadership abilities " If you're in a leadership position, then you know that you have a responsibility to your team. They look to you for guidance and strength; that's part of what being a leader is. And a big part of your responsibility is to lead them with your own actions." ("Leading by Example - Leadership Training from MindTools.com, (n.d.), para.7). Moreover, managing by objectives is an effective tool that a leader or a manager can use to reach achieving the planned objectives in a successful mechanism " The most important tool the manager has in setting and achieving forward-looking goals is people, and to achieve results with this tool the manager must: first, be able to instill in the workers a sense of vital commitment and desire to contribute to organizational goals; second, control and coordinate the efforts of the workers toward goal accomplishment; and, last, help his or her subordinates to grow in ability so that they can make greater contributions" (Thomson, (n.d.),

Each practice defines leadership and what a leader should strive to perfect in being successful. To model the way shares the same concept of practicing what you preach, (Kouzes and Posner, 2012). 210). We as humans feel the need to copy what others are doing; “we have this subconscious feeling that if we aren’t doing what everybody else is doing, then we are probably going to die” (2005, p. 212). I have been challenging processes by appealing to different means to accomplish a task, such as working within a group rather than individually to finish a project. I think leadership is an important aspect that one needs to show daily throughout their life. In school I’ve shown leadership through helping my friends and others with homework or any class work. When I have work to do in class, I prefer to settle myself down and get what I need to get done before I socialize which is another way I have demonstrated leadership. Through sports I’ve laid out leadership by showing good sportsmanship and working together to be able to succeed.…

The particular management skills and theories that I found the most valuable as a team leader was a motivating theory called Theory Y. This theory stated that people are motivated if they are happy and willing to work. I wanted to make sure that everyone was happy with what they were doing and that they were satisfied. Another way to improve my team’s performance was to give a thorough feedback with information on how to improve. This would not only develop my team’s performance, but would enhance the behaviors of my team members as well.…
