“How did you know what I was going to say” Sage snarls.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, you said everything out loud, there is no reason to be freaking out” Paisley replies staring straight forward, avoiding her eyes from Sage’s eyes.
“I know your secret, you always give people strange looks, you always have the ability to “coincidentally finish people’s sentences. I know your secret Paisley”
“You’re acting ridiculous, you don’t know anything about me” Paisley gives her a stern look and gets up and steps off the bus.
“You can read minds” Sage blurts out.
“If you want to figure out what’s going on you need to be quiet, let’s go to my house and talk about things”

“You don’t believe me, you think i’m faking it, how long you were blind enough to not see it” Paisley says in a distraught manner.
“I, don’t have any words, that’s unbelievable” Sage says astonished
“You can’t tell another living soul, i’ve been hiding this ever since my 7th birthday, you can’t tell anybody, and I don’t know if i can trust you with that.” Paisley says
Silence fills the room as Sage walks out of the house. Paisley paces back and forth in her kitchen, kicking herself for letting her secret get out to someone she has never trusted.

One week has passed since Paisley revealed her secret, Sage hasn’t said a single word about her, she hasn’t talked to Paisley until she sees a boy knocking Paisley’s stuff down on the ground and kicking it. Paisley stands there, a blank stare fills her whole face as her science project fills her face. Sage races over to where Paisley and the boy are standing and rage lights up in Sage's’ face, without thinking for a moment she screams and shouts at the boy who destroyed Paisley’s stuff. He quickly grabs his bag and leaves.
“He’s a jerk, i’ll help you rebuild whatever this is” Sage looks up smiling at

I had been worrying about Charley for a while now. he had been jabbering on about this so called ‘third level’ at Grand Central and a place called Galesburg, Illinois, I told him it was a waking dream wish fulfillment, but now I’m not so sure, he explained everything in such precise detail that it sounded so realistic, I had been talking to him for a while now, and he had told me about Galesburg as he was there as a child and absolutely loved it, I have no idea why he didn’t just move back, but that is none of my business anyway. I had caught myself wondering if he hadn’t imagined it, if it had been real, there would be an escape from modern day troubles, it was magical, the way he described it, it would be an amazing experience. The freedom…

Today is going to be just like any other day, I sketched in my morning journal. The morning Baltimore sun shone past the skyscrapers of downtown, and light protruded through the silk blinds that covered half of the picture window in my room. I rose up from my queen bed. The sheets had become untucked and the comforter lay halfway off the edge. My back rested against the mahogany headboard with my head fitting perfectly between two of the wooden posts.…
