Out of all the people you can aspire to be in the world, it's best to just be yourself. Furthermore, it's best to work on becoming the best version of yourself. There's never going to be anyone like you and that's your superpower. If you've spent most of your life working to be like other people, it's time to change things up and give yourself full permission to be yourself through these four practices.

Take a look at some of the dreams you've always held down deep or the goals you'd like to achieve. If you've always wanted to tap dance, go sign up for class and start. If you've loved art and wanted to become a professional artist, start with some art projects and classes. Find a mentor who will help you find your inner artist and see where it goes.

3. Enjoy favorite pastimes.
In addition to exploring goals you've never achieved, it's also time to enjoy some of your favorite pastimes. Try to make it a habit of enjoying a favorite pastime on a consistent basis. Whether you enjoy DIY projects or cooking new recipes, indulge in the things that make you very happy. It's part of who you are and it'll help you solidify confidence in that.

4. Positive Influences
Surround yourself with people who will support you on this journey. There might be people who make fun of you for the things you want to do. You don't necessarily need to push them out of your life. However, those naysayers need to keep a safe distance. When you're rebuilding your mindset, you'll only need people who will encourage you and celebrate your accomplishments. For every negative comment, most people need at least seven positive affirmations. Protect your space and be grateful for the people who can celebrate

The second I came into this world, labels and expectations were placed upon me. I was groomed throughout my childhood and teens to focus on beauty and appearance by the media and my environment. I was taught that males and females have certain roles in society and that some things men do, women cannot. These views will taint the way others see me, my potential and will limit me at my job, school, sports, social events, with friends and etc. Being a female, I am constantly judged by others and feel a need to conform to society norms.…

If I could give advice to someone younger than me, I would let them know that you have to have a great deal of experience in order to come to the realization that you are good as you are; as E.E. Cummings said,“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” Its difficult to overcome some things but you learn and make mistakes for good reasons. “to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived” This excerpt from “Walden” by Henry David Thoreau speaks of a life unlived when it's nearing too late. Thoreau writes about living every day as if it were your last, taking in every chance to enrich and define yourself. How pursuing even the most simple of passions could prove to be worthwhile. I agree in the possibility that it is never too late to do what you’ve dreamt of and bring new perspective when looking into the horizon. When you genuinely love doing something it becomes your passion, but if fear or fear of regret impact your decisions it can be easily regretted.…

Throughout the majority of my life, I was self-conscious and constantly worried about how I was perceived by others. As a child, I had always felt slightly out of place among my peers. There are a couple of obstacles that have played a major role in me becoming who I am today. I've had naysayers trying to negatively influence my thoughts, and crush my dreams by saying that said I will never amount to anything, or that I should give up on my dreams and get realistic with my goals.
