Million Dollar Throw Book Report

The book I read was Million Dollar Throw by Mike Lupica. This book shows many different struggles Nate and Abby go through leading up to a throw that could change both of their lives completely. I learned that no matter how difficult a situation is, always think about the good and never give up on anything. Nate and his family, and eventually Abby’s are in some very tough battles with money. Throughout the book, this creates Abby’s and Nate’s bond even tighter by learning more about each other.
In the beginning of this book, Nate and his football team, from Valley, Massachusetts, were playing a game on a Saturday morning. Nate gets the chance of a lifetime to potentially win one million dollars. At the same time, his best friend, Abby, is losing her sight and Nate’s dad can’t seem to find enough money working two jobs to support their family. On Thanksgiving night, Nate and his friends and family cannot believe it when Nate slices the football right through the target, winning a million dollars. As Abby’s eyes are getting worse and worse everyday, Nate decides to use the money he has won to pay for a surgery that will give Abby her sight back. As he promised, after the championship game for Valley Nate gives his last throw of the night to Abby, now being able to catch the ball. …show more content…
