Million Dollar Baby Thesis

Million Dollar Baby is an inspirational film. Directed and filmed by Clint Eastwood in 2004, Million Dollar Baby is a motivational film featuring a young women living in the lower class who follows her passion for boxing. Part of the reason I believe it was a good film was since it was a comeback movie. It started with a thirty-one year old waitress named Maggie Fitzgerald who comes from a lower class family in which they do not all get along well. Maggie Fitzgerald has a passion to one day become a boxer. She frequently visits a gym owned by a man named Frankie Dunn. Frankie Dunn has trained and worked with several boxers that have been successful in their fighting career. Frankie is an older man that has owned the gym for a long time with his only friend Eddie Dupris who also goes by the nickname scrap-iron. The film is packed with drama when Frankie Dunn struggles too trust most people except Eddie Dupris after painful experience because of his daughter but that changes when Frankie meets Maggie Fitzgerald. At the beginning of the film when Maggie comes to Frankie's gym in hopes of Frankie training her how to box, Frankie is very reluctant in training a women from the lower class that has no experience with boxing. That does not stop Maggie from trying to still become trained in the sport. She visits Frankie's gym constantly just too use the punching bag. Maggie's determination shows she has so much potential and is willing to learn. Frankie eventually starts giving Maggie tips on how to properly box but is still not willing to train her.
