In my generation, Miley Cyrus- also once known as Hannah Montana, represents it well. Miley doesn’t represent it in a positive way, but she sure does put the spotlight on herself a lot. My cultural icon would have to be musical note.
Music represents the whole universe, but in today’s era I feel like music is really in the works and almost every day a new song is out and hitting the charts. Music is everywhere we go, and on every turn we take we can hear it. Music speaks to me in so many ways and it makes me happy. There are also different types of music for however you are feeling that day and time. In my generation, there is a lot of following instead of leading and I think that music also has a huge impact on teens lives. However, there is different types of music, I feel like music made today is leading teens in the wrong direction. I was always taught that if you hang out with the wrong crowd and take in what you hear; you soon adapt to that person’s ways.

Now it’s not only about her music and her abilities, it is about her image and how much media attention she can get. Miley acts out and she does not show much self-worth. Although every person has different beliefs and was raised to have different religious beliefs, I know right from wrong and I do know that, the things that Miley does and wears is teaching girls that are growing into women and younger girls coming up that it is okay to not have self-respect, to do drugs, and to follow the wrong crowd.
