In August, she traveled to Tucson, Arizona and met with Dr. Victoria Maizes, the Executive Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine (AzCIM). Since receiving the NBCU-MTP Grant, she began the process of logo development and the purchase of two website domains (NourishThrive.co and NourishThrive.org).
• GenHERation: Founded by CEO Katlyn Grasso, is a 10 city summer leadership series held for high school girls and rising college freshman. With the NBCU-MTP Grant, Katlyn created more than 40 webisodes and hired a full-time videographer for her series discussion called “ConvHersations.” The webisodes are released weekly on GenHERation and The Huffington Post.
• Citizens of Culture: Founded by Maceo Keeling, is a media platform where change makers, activists, and entrepreneurs can gather and discuss social issues in communities. The NBCU-MTP Grant gave Maceo the environment to host engagement forums, compensate photographers, and procure image licenses for the digital content needed for his magazine. The NBCU-MTP Grant allowed Randi to create a web documentary centered on conversations about race, prejudices, stereotypes and social justice in America. Randi captured footage from LA, San Antonio, Austin, New Orleans and Baltimore to create her full-length documentary. She is now in the process of submitting her documentary to film festivals around the world.
• Invasive Innovators: Founded by Erin Spencer, is a digital storytelling platform that aims to educate the public about the threats of invasive species while highlighting innovate approaches to management.
