Millard North Forensics Reflection

Since this is my first year being apart of Forensics at Millard North High School I have come across and learned many new things. For example, I learned a bunch of new forensic slang such as breaking and S. O. P. More importantly, however, I learned how Millard North Forensics works and functions as a team. It was encouraging to see all the varsity members that were willing to help the novices when they required it. I also enjoyed watching how everyone is friendly towards each other and support one another. They truly take the motto of, “The wall is only as strong as its weakest brick” to heart. Another important thing I learned was how to better myself as a public speaker. Through the practicing and performing I feel that my presentation …show more content…
I would also like to have my entertainment speech presentable to that I will be able to take it to competitions starting next semester. To achieve these goals I plan on practicing over Christmas break so as to improve my HI and to complete my entertainment. My practicing for my HI would include character specification because I’m lacking in that area. For my entertainment I would finish revising it and hopefully create my VA’s for it. For the rest of the year I would continue to practice, complete the assigned work, etc… to complete my goal. Overall, being apart of the forensic experience has helped me grow in multiple ways. Not only did it increase my speaking and writing abilities, but it also helped me better my critical thinking skills and become a better teammate. As this first semester comes to a close I hope to retain all the information I learned in this class. I know that what I’m taught in Forensics can apply to nearly everything in everyday life and how beneficial that is. Lastly, I want to say thank you Ms. Denney Bull for teaching this class. It would be a completely different experience without

Hypothesis After analyzing the shoe wear patterns above, our team of forensic Pedorthists have gained valuable insight regarding the shoe-owner’s unique (abnormal) gait. Our leading theory describes gait mechanics that feature abnormalities including: severe overpronation and a low-gear toe off bilaterally. Without them, the science of criminal investigation is nothing more than a guessing game.” A criminal investigation is the study of facts, and without facts one can not solve a problem. Joining the New Visions program was one of the wisest decisions I have made. When nurses that I shadow at Unity Hospital express how jealous they are that they didn’t have a program like this when they were in high school, it reminds me to take advantage of this opportunity that not every student receives. I am confident that when I graduate college, I will be able to recollect this program, and how it led me to be successful. I will reminisce about the long hours dedicated to each college-level assignment in determination to receive a grade in the high 90’s, or that moment when I witnessed a five pound baby be born from a cesarean delivery, or even when I stood next to the operating table observing a total knee replacement surgery, while the surgeon and nurses took the time to teach me about what they were doing--an opportunity that not even college nursing students were able to see. Every assignment I completed, conversation I had, and person I met, has transformed me into a more educated and open minded student.…

I strongly dislike public speaking, but I am working to improve my skills in that area because I know how much it’s needed in the workplace. There were many of my classmates who are graduating at the same time as me and it seems like we all have a lot to improve. We need more practice and more willing to put what we have learned in the past into practice. I know that during our college careers, we have heard from different people about what we should do when we are giving a presentation, but it looks like we did not take it seriously and now we are facing the consequences of giving a presentation like a high school student and not as an almost professional…
