Military Wake Up

Improved Essays
I wake up in my bed and see busy streets outside of my 2 story house. Rosett, my sister, is the only family member alive that I have. She wakes up before me and is dressed in a full military training outfit, coming downstairs once she hears I’m awake. I then get dressed in a military general outfit, and we both get ready for a usual, boring day. We eat eggs, bacon, and a sandwich. I drive Rosett to her training school. “Don’t get into trouble Rose (Her nickname).” “I won’t Danny (My nickname).” She responds. In the middle of the day, I get a call from the office. They say my sister is going up a 2 story building. I quickly report to her school and meet her in the office. “Morning,” I say to the office staff. “Your sister has too much trouble in this school, and I have made the decision she may leave earlier than most students since she has passed all the tests.” “I’m sure of that too Mr. Clint. I will have her out of this school tomorrow, putting her in command of an officer.” “Glad to hear that Daniel, …show more content…
At work, I train 10 students at a military camp. They are taking a test today and passing it will bring a rank promotion and a badge. Instead of going home that night I had another shift at the hospital. I called Rosett and told her I’ll be back as soon as possible. I arrived at the hospital and guard the big double doors of the hospital. Around me were people who were 3-4 ranks away from a commander rank. People enter the hospital waiting to be treated. Suddenly I hear a gunshot on the 2ND floor. Many soldiers and I go up to see what’s happening. I see a guy who looks injured a little. He knocked out all the soldiers in the room and heads for the closest window. I rush down and go outside. As I was about to shoot him, I saw a sharp shaped object, a knife! I couldn’t dodge it in time, and I tumble to the ground. I went unconscious laying on the floor

The ramp to our boat was open and we jumped off and sprinted to cover. I threw off the flamethrower and layed on my back watching as the bullets flied overhead with a zing. I looked back at the boat and my sargent floated on top of the water in a pool of his own blood. At that moment I then realized what this was and what was going on. I guess it had never really hit me to as of what really was going on exactly.…

As I stared across the bullet-torn battlefield I wondered how I ended up here; hiding behind a crumbling wall, clutching my gun as though it were a lifeline. How the young kid I'd once been now bore a dirty, camouflage patterned uniform. There I was, contemplating my life in the middle of a battle. I shouldn't have been surprised when a hand suddenly shot out in front of my face and smacked me upside the head. It was so unexpected that I nearly stumbled out from behind the rubble and right into the bullet whizzing by.…

We had played a key role in keeping the enemy at bay when our numbers were falling short. We never took credit for what happened that day, but at the end of it, we all sat around and talked about how we just went through some crazy stuff together. It may seem odd but it was fun. It is what we train day and night to do… to be able to be experts in our weapon systems and to engage and close with the enemy. I have had many other events in my Army career but that was truly some of the worst and best times.…

What is a God? Is He a higher being someone made up to feel better when people did something bad? Or the “person” that is up in the sky waiting for us to join Him after we die? Or a real, loving, caring higher power whose always has your back? A Christian God is a God who holds all morals and who does not want to see His people hurting, but wanting them to succeed and have a great life.…
