The second Army principle of training is “Non-commissioned Officers train individuals, crews and small teams” (ADRP 7-0, Training Units and Developing Leaders). NCOs must prepare their training so that they can conduct a rehearsal at the IDT period before the actual conduct of the training, when practical. NCOs must evaluate the steps and evaluation criteria to ensure that the training will be effective and can be accomplished with the time available. Geospatial leaders should review existing databases and products to verify that mission requirements can be accomplished given the skill level of available manpower and within the training time available. Training must be briefed at training meetings so the geospatial leader can account for conflicting requirements and time limitations. These may include AR 350-1 training, Soldier’s Manual of Common Tasks (SMCT) training, medical readiness weekends or other command directed requirements. Geospatial leaders must assess previously conducted training and conflicting requirements to identify the training limitations and accommodations that must be implemented. While preparing for training the leader should request any specific supplies, training locations or special considerations the training will require and complete a deliberate risk assessment
