During World War I, America took its first steps towards military technological advancement. The World War I era was predominantly ground warfare with the use of tanks, long range weapons, flame throwers, and other automotive machine gun carrying vehicles. However, this war lacked the proper protection for soldiers. Less than one hundred years later America is applying all ground battle to a variety of unmanned flying vehicles and providing enhanced armour for troops on and off land.
