Military Service Research Paper

I have not been aware of that some countries have the policy of having to have at least two years of military service until now. Having just been informed of this and living in a free country no I don’t think the United States should have a similar policy as then not everyone would be free to do what they want no matter what the situation. However, I think in the United States people should at least consider enrolling in the military, as it would bring a purpose for some people rather than just sitting at home living with your parents playing video games all day.
People who have no career or any kind of skills would gain skills in the military. Bringing purpose to those who feel like they have no purpose. Throughout my high school career,

No matter who you are, or what you do, you can always serve your country in one-way or the other. One man who would have gotten payed millions a year playing for the NFL traded it all to serve for the country, and that, that is the real sacrifice. The greater good is better than self-worth.
My position in the United States right now is to be a student. Not only that but to be a role model for people and future generations as well as make past generations proud and allow them to see all their hard work does after all pay off. I do not know much about the military but I am sure willing to find out. I do not know if there is a shortage for people who want to serve or if were needing to have reserved recruiters. I recently had a recruiter message me if I ever thought about joining or if I was interested in joining. I politely declined then asked if I could recommended someone. I myself now am not interested in serving, however, if I can help someone else in any way I will. I think their needs to be more people interested in joining, but I can’t really force anyone, as I myself am not interested. I support people who want to join the military with all hands forward. No matter who you are black, white, gay, or straight if you are interested in serving the country please do so no one will ever shame you for doing it because you are stepping up to the late for this country when millions of others wouldn’t even think of it. I salute

“Every citizen should be a soldier. This was the case with the Greeks and Romans, and must be that of every free state” – Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson believed that everyone has a duty to fight in America’s wars, which was correct. When our country has been at war, it has been proved that not only the soldiers fighting for America had a role, but also everyone at home had a part to play in it. Although people who were home did not physically fight for our country, they made contributions to help the war effort.…

Forcing the Military What if there was no push to persuade young people to go to college after graduation, but a push for them to go off and fight for their country? We would have a culture of breeding warriors and not innovative thinkers and creators. Not only that, but people would only look forward to obtaining a higher education if they made it out of the military unscathed. This would be the reality of the United States if we were to impose a mandatory two year military requirement on young people after graduation and it once was when we had the military draft. This led to mass protests across the country.…

There are three main reasons why serving in the armed forces after graduation is important to me. They are the opportunities I have had, the opportunities I will have, and the opportunities I will ensure for the next generation. Growing up in this 21st Century society, I’ve witnessed the beauty of this country, and the horrors that have attempted to destroy it. Though I was just a toddler on 9/11, it has played a large role in my life, and in the lives of millions of other teenagers and children growing up in a completely changed world. In this new world of national security, the US armed forces and Department of Homeland Security have evolved to ensure peace and opportunities for families and young people like myself.…

Should younger kids go into the military? I personally think no because of multiple reasons. I do not think everyone should go into the military because they have not lived their life yet, the possibility of dying young, and not being physically prepared. But it is my opinion, not anyone else's, even though some might think the same as me. I believe everyone should be able to decide on their own.…

There are many different ways that a soldier can serve in the military. For example, in the Army if a solder decides to be “active duty”, they are part of the army 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They could also serve as an Army reserve, which means that they serve as part-time soldiers and are also able to work a civilian job and go to school. On active-duty a soldier could serve a variety of jobs, such as supply sergeants, door gunners on Blackhawk helicopters, or members of Special Forces (Army Careers: Ways to Serve in the Army, 2015). The most intense form of service is completing each branches ultimate mission: to win, which means serving in combat zones.…

One event that influenced me to pursue a career in defense, were the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. It influenced me because I saw the impact the attack made on our citizens, society, and way of life. We realized that we could be attacked and now we had to respond. I saw both fear and unity arise from the aftermath of the attacks. I wanted to erase that fear, and maintain the safety of all Americans and defend the unity of our country.…

Compulsory military service would be a positive addition of responsibilities to our citizen body and would result in a safer, more responsible, and more united country. A population of generally well-trained and active people will do wonders for our general health and allow for a stronger, more vibrant nation that utilizes the potential and experience of its citizenry. Public service creates a channel by which Americans of all educational vocations and backgrounds can unite behind a common goal and building a strong America for the future. This has and will surely lead to a diminishing of class conflict and a promotion of diversity. Within the current system, the vast majority of people have no physical connection to the foreign policy decisions…

Choosing whether a person wants the baggage of war or not should be their choice not forced upon them. Furthermore, it might not benefit an individual’s future career and be a complete waste of that individual’s time altogether. It makes no sense to force a person to do something that doesn’t even go with what they actually want to do. For instance, if someone wanted to become a singer than doing two years of military service would hold no importance to them.…
