St. John’s Military School vs St. Edward’s School
Although St. John’s Military School and St. Edward’s Catholic School are both private schools and have sports, at St. John’s we wore ACUs and were split up into companies. While St. Edward’s (St. Ed’s) we wore a nice polo with a nice pair of dress pants and every grade was split in half, and then separated. At St. John’s they have a very weird “welcoming” program, but St. Ed’s you just follow the person that is in your class. St. John’s made me fell out of place and lost, just like most cadets here.
Just like most kids being away from home is not easy or fun to experience. Before you leave you give your parents a good-bye hug you start in a program called “New Boy.” When you start “New Boy” every new cadet has to go through this and it’s not fun, but yet you will gain some knowledge from it. During “New Boy” every cadet is taught how to do correct facing movements, march correctly and discipline for six weeks straight. When those six weeks are over with you take a test to determine if you are eligible to get out of the “New Boy” program and become an “Old Boy.” “Old Boy” is basically when you become a normal student and enjoy not having to do “New Boy” things. The environment is very different at St. John’s compared to St. Ed’s.

Ed’s usually gave us so much homework that if we chose to do study for a test instead of doing homework our grades would go down dramatically. That was very difficult for me because they usually gave us only one to three days to study for a test and only one day to do your homework otherwise it would be 50% off if it was late. Just like normal kids they would have a hard time adjusting to that because it was crazy and you rarely had any time for yourself. Compared to St. john’s where the teachers don’t give you a mountain load of homework that is due tomorrow and test that is two to three days

Throughout history many battles have been fought, in the front of the US, all for the need of utilities, but how did these battles help to form the United States the way it is now? As compared to the schools that I went to when I came back to Cruces, the schools were small, the computers were often a little older or outdated, the buildings were not as nice, they looked dirty, just overall the schools were not as nice as the education facility that I went to in…
