The informant divulged that he was an officer, a “Second Lieutenant”. He further mentioned that as an officer he are given more privileges than the basic soldier. He also described instances wherein things are in favor for him because he is an officer like “they (basic soldier) have to work a twelve to eighteen hour shift… whereas officers did not”. Although, there were “grunts”, most of the time, they are already oblivious of the situation and just accepted things as a normal, day to day occurrence, where “you just adapt to the surroundings”. Moreover, he also stated that this system is “consistent worldwide with military everywhere”.
