The Military Industrial Complex term emerged officially during president Dwight D. Eisenhower farewell address when he referred to the relationship among the armament industry, the US army and the US Congress. These political and monetary relationship have evolved through the years and some Analysts believe that the Military Industrial terminology started when the government needed the private industry’s help to build steam ships during the civil war and it became stronger after the WWII due to the necessity of private capital for the development of technology to build sophisticated armaments to strength military force for the country’s defense in order to keep power and world leadership.

The military fund is part of the discretionary spending and represent the biggest percentage in this category. Even though some presidents efforts to reduce military spends, specially during peace time, since 9/11 this value has been increased in a 50%.
