Military Appreciation Month

May is National Military Appreciation Month. There are going to be events throughout the nation that will send appreciation to both military and military families. I would like to say that it is not only an honor to serve in the military but it is an honor to serve alongside each and every one of you. I am truly amazed daily at the sacrifices and risks that each and every one of you goes through. We may not all be fighting on the front lines but what we do to support the mission is essential and allows for so many years of freedom for the Unites States.
I have served alongside people, who have given their lives for our country and I will forever remember them, their lives, and what principles they were fighting for.
I recently had the opportunity

My time at Valley Forge was over, I had been fighting for general George Washington since the summer of 1775 and the victory on April 13 looked so far away because it was only late December, and it was seeming as if a turning point was unlikely. Do I stay and be loyal to my brothers or do I leave and never look back. I had to make my choice very soon, I could have left and the pain of seeing my brothers die , or I could stay and fight for my freedom such as many men had already done. The decision I made was to stay and fight for my country because many men had gotten sick, and I was a faithful servant to my country and I wanted to do what I came to the new world to do which was achieved my freedom .…

“On this Veterans Day, let us remember the service of our veterans, and let us renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much so that we can live free.” -Dan Lipinski `With so much business in life these days, it is common to forget that our own everyday life is much different than that of those out fighting for our country. We often forget that not everyone in this country gets to see their families everyday and that often, our service men and women go weeks, even months, without seeing their loved ones, and more often than not, they miss birthdays, anniversaries, and even holidays, due to their commitment to keep this country free.…

John F Kennedy said “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”. This quote has stayed in my mind since my father told me it years ago. Our veterans asked what they could do for their country. Not only have they answered the call, but they gave the ultimate sacrifice to provide America the rare gift of freedom.…

Why I Would Be Honored To Lay Wreaths At Arlington On a day to day basis most of us in the US take for granted freedom and the price soldiers paid for our freedom. The thought of freedom has become normal. We forget the luxury of freedom and not how it used to be and the price that was paid. The thousands of people were not forced to fight, they were given a choice.…

Every year my school's JROTC program likes to host a veterans day ceremony. We call up local veterans to share their heroic stories and amazing experiences. During the end of the program we give each veteran a medal of appreciation from the school. I enjoy helping by setting chairs, and hanging up decorations for the ceremony. It is hard work, but seeing each veteran crack a smile, and share their stories makes it all worth it.…

Every time you see someone in any kind of military just say thanks. I mean they do so much for us and the county and a couple of words and a conversation is at least you can do for someone that is fighting for you. Take pride in your country there is nothing more disrespectful seeing someone stomp on our flag and it breaks my heart seeing people not care that the land they are walking on is all because of our veterans out there. I don't think a veteran could be anymore prouder then seeing kids at school reciting the Pledge Of Allegiance everyday. I know that all of our vets would want nothing more then seeing the American people take pride in how great our country really…
