The celebrity I chose to write about is Miley Cyrus, and as some may remember her childhood role as Hannah Montana. Miley Cyrus has been getting a lot of attention in the news the last couple years, but not the kind of attention most want. She has been noticed a lot because of her extreme change in looks and actions. Miley was always seen as an innocent girl who had a very close relationship with her father. Over the past couple years she has had an "I don't care what people think of me" attitude. Miley has openly talked about using drugs and her music videos have become very provocative. She has gone from a celebrity that some people looked up to, to a celebrity that some don’t feel watching the work that she does. After researching Miley and watching her over the years I believe Miley is suffering from Histrionic Personality Disorder. Histrionic Personality Disorder is characterized by constant attention-seeking, emotional overreaction, and suggestibility. Yes, she was very young when she was on the show, but do go from one extreme to the next like she did is not norma. I truly believe Miley had a lot of pressure put on her when she was young. Being such a young actress had to be extremely stressful. When she was doing the show she was going through many life changes. She went from being a little girl to a young woman. Not only did she have the pressure from her parents, but she also had pressure from all of her fans and followers. The show made her out to be an innocent girl who was her dad’s best friend.
