Central Idea: My dad, Mike Giannola, is worthy of commemoration because of the impact he had on others and me.
Introduction
I. I would like you to think about this, what makes a dad a good dad?
a. From what I’ve seen being a dad is no easy task.
b. Dads want to see the success that you can have in this world.
c. For instance, seeing you walk across the stage to get your high school diploma or the time that you decide to share your future with a special loved one.
d. My dad was the most typical dad that you could think of.
e. He taught me what was right and wrong and how to improve.

My dad will do anything to make someone physically or mentally better.
a. It can be as simple as helping with homework or to helping correct someone’s swing in baseball.
b. Being taught at a young age will put a permanent picture in your mind that will help you remember things.
V. My dad has been coaching baseball for 18 years and impacted the lives of several players.
a. He has a love for baseball and helping people improve in the game and areas outside of the game.
b. When I was around 8 years old, my dad coached our Summer Baseball team.
c. He would hand out these cards during practice on which you would fill out when you worked on your mechanics outside of practice time.
d. From hitting in the cage or doing long toss to strengthen your arm, anything you did outside of practice shows that you cared and wanted to be better.
e. Walking from person to person he picked up the cards seeing some filled completely out and some having little time on it.
f. He is happy just to see little time on it because it would help them improved.
g. Seeing that one person has nothing on their card is a stab to my dad’s heart.
h. Everyone’s notices it and can tell if someone did not work outside of practice by their practice performance on the field that
