Midwife Personal Statement

I developed an interest to work in a health care sector as it is fascinating and effortless to work as a Midwife. This career path in health care motivates and inspires me to be someone who would like to work with adult women who are expecting. I am determined to elaborate more in women who are expecting as I am drawn to the services the midwives offer to support the neonatal care and the relationship they help to build between the mother and the baby. Moreover, midwives they play a significant role in giving advice to expectant mothers and support them with their vital presence of the first six weeks after birth.
I have a passionate personality and ability to communicate well with people especially foreigners as I would use my English communication skills to try to understand them. Last year was a blissful and a good experience to me. My sister allowed me to be her birthing partner and I witnessed her going through the birth contractions as they were 5 minutes apart indicating she is about to give birth. To further my experience, I also obtained caring skills and real life experience by watching my grandmother taking care of my grandfather as he had a terminal illness distinctively different from the other old age patients. Also I experienced my auntie in a predicament of ectopic pregnancy of twins, one baby growing inside the fallopian tube and the other inside the womb. This experience played a pivotal role as it is relevant to Midwifery and also with the skills I learned of caring and providing support gave me a perception of what it is to play the role of being a midwife.
