The food was great for a while but it got to the point where no one wanted to eat. Not when there was other things we had to do. In case of an attack. The next day it was dark and the wind was not gentle like it normally was. The weather has been good from the time we got here till now. No own was in the mood to talk. A few hellos here and there but not much more. Not until the Radio was going crazy. It had intercepted a Japan conversation. Japan wanted Midway Island. As soon as I heard that I started to panic I did not want anyone to know how afraid I was so I went and hide it a sand dip. When I was there I wrote a note. It was not for any person in general just someone. In the note I wrote what news I had just heard. The group of friends standing right in front of us jumped and sang every word of the songs being sung. We were only 30 seconds into the first song he sang, there was no one in the crowd in sight just standing there. Days before, I remember counting down for the day to approach. Waiting for that day filled with country music, sunshine, cowboy boots, and hats. It was the stereotypical perfect day, i've been waited for this the entire summer, ever since we heard of it on Wild Country 99.…

Mt. Evans Standing on a massive rock, I overlooked an array of majestic, snow capped mountains. Aspens covered the area like quills on a porcupine. The horizon was replaced with a jagged line of rocky peaks that surrounded us on all sides. I could see for what seemed like hundreds of miles in each direction. Below me, the side of the mountain was covered in a layer of different sized rocks, that ranged from the size of a pea to the size of a house.…

There's no use wasting time and panicking, instead, I think I'm going to find out what this FAYZ is caused by, Athena Smiths thought, and stepped outside. She could see and walk to the FAYZ boundary from her porch, and with her high intelligence, calculated the FAYZ to be 20 miles in diameter, same as last FAYZ. Then the center and cause of the FAYZ would be Theraman Lake? Theraman Lake must have toxic waste or some other form of nuclear waste.…

The sky is dark, damp, and warm, the slight red undertones are glowing through the clouds. I never expected something like this to happen in my short lifetime, Mauna Loa was erupting for the first time in twenty-five years. I watched as the ash rained down on the roofs of nearby houses, coating the entire town in what could have been perceived as warm, black snow. I felt my heart rise into my throat, causing me to choke out a dry sob. I was twenty-one, I finally had a house, and now I was going to die in this massive storm of lava and rubble.…
