Midterm Vs Counter Argument

Decent Essays
To be honest, I am confident with this midterm essay because, once I saw the prompt, I believed I could write a good essay based on a great amount of time I devoted into, like coming up the reasons for each body paragraph and counter argument. The Highs and Lows of “Albatross in the Red Sky on Friday: Does Irrational Superstition on the Great Lakes Make a Difference?” Bowling Green State University, Firelands Campus student Sara E. Cordle wrote an in-depth essay entitled; “Albatross in The Red Sky; Does Irrational Superstition on The Great Lakes Make a Difference?, explaining how the maritime superstitions had a major impact on the seamen of the Great Lakes. The author states how these superstitions can affect the seamen psychologically as well as physiologically and how they can put their crew members in great danger. The author does an excellent job of proving this point over all yet fails to mention much about the opposing side and how, in the author’s defense, it is wrong. By reflecting on the opposing side in greater detail, it may have made the author’s essay slightly stronger.…

Hello Robin, it is a pleasure to read your essay. You address the prompt clearly in this essay. Furthermore, I found that the flow between the ideas is well-written. To improve this essay better, you may consider the following inputs: "For this, an ideal government.." "..the inter relation.." it should be interrelation "Quiet often Military come in play quite often when a relation.." "And a military interference is.." How if you replace the word "And" with other transition signals to make your essay more academic, for example: "furthermore, moreover, in addition.…

Lastly, the conclusion nicely recapped the essence and arguments of the entire essay, although it could have ended in a stronger way. The student’s grammar was solid throughout and had good transitioning from paragraph to paragraph. I think the student makes good arguments, was well-organized, had a very good understanding of Foer’s article, and is definitely on the right track, but needs to fine-tune his or her wording, cut down on the summarizing, and use more effective quotations. It was a good job…

It helps me to build my essay into a great one compared to my two essays that I have been done in this course. I learned that I should not stick into one side. For example, in my Essay 2, I should have given pros and cons not just only one side because I mostly give pros and not cons. This is like where I need to balance the arguments between each side.…

Title Enrolling the EOF program has lighten up a path in life that would have gone completely undiscovered had I walked alone. Along the path was my introduction to college writing, a class that has improved my writing skills profoundly. At first the tasks given to us on the syllabus seemed daunting, almost insurmountable within the five-week period of the program; it seemed even more inconceivable with the class being only twice a week. However, with the guidance and instruction given to me by the professor and peers I was able to strengthen my work as a student.…

When I compare my writing with another piece of writing, I can clearly spot the mistakes on my own writing. One thing I would change for next time is the way I organized my writing because I want to include most important detail at first and the least important detail at last. Additionally, one thing I would try to improve on my writing assignment next time is that correcting pronounce references and modifying repetitive ideas. However, one thing I am most proud of about my writing is that I have a clear purpose and the thesis statement. Since I have a clear thesis statement, I should have also added more specific details in the essay about my perception to clarify to the readers.…
