In the reading in “Emergency Management” had brought awareness and how effective management takes care of the staff and citizens safety. FEMA in the 1980s was upside down and wasn’t able to support the national emergency management program. James Witt had resolved the issues within FEMA under the administration of President Clinton nomination. The preparedness process cycle consist of planning, organizational and equipment, training, exercise, evaluation and improvement. This preparedness cycle will improved the overall emergency management staff and the citizens within the communities. In cases in which hazard agents require distinctly different responses, hazard-specific planning, training, and resources are required (Perry and Lindell 2006). The Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) is a program that gets the community interactive with their first responders.
