Midterm Case Study

The Lakers we’re gonna take over the league by storm in this 2000 season with Kobe and Shaquille O’Neal as a top dynamic duo and with Phil Jackson to guide the team. Kobe was named to the All-NBA Second team and the All-NBA Defensive First team. Kobe had a major improvement in stat-wise with an average of 22.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game during the season. The Lakers won 67 games and made it into the playoffs. Kobe came clutch in the playoffs like in the Western Conference Finals Game 7 when he had stats of 25 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks and then went on to advance to the NBA Finals. The Lakers then went on to beat the Indiana Pacers to win their first NBA Championship since 1988.
