The play starts with the intended marriage of the Duke of Athens Theseus and Hippolyta. The Duke of Athens Theseus and his soon to be wife Hippolyta are taking a stroll chatting about their wedding. Egeus arrives with his beloved daughter Hermia then comes in Lysander and Demetrius. Egeus disregards Lysander because he wants Hermia to marry Demetrius. To enhance the magical world when Puck and Oberon used the mystical flower it turned purple and had its own distinctly sound like rings that accompany the color every time the flower was used. The purple color and the sound made it more magical and mystical. The use of light indicated whether it was night of morning. With Titania whenever it was time for her to sleep it will became dark surrounding her bed, but a dimmed light will shine on her as she sleeps. Sound was established when her fairies servants would sing to put her to bed, the sound from their angelic voices was lullaby for Titania. For sound, whenever the Theseus and his soon to be wife Hippolyta would enter the room trumpets would blow to call attention to their arrival. When it came to the fairy world, the backdrop was blue suggesting that we were no longer looking at the human world but at the fairies world. The use of lighting and sound made the play whole and
