Midnight Zone

Decent Essays
The area that is between tide marks - it is above water at low tide and above water at high tide.

The relatively shallow part of the ocean extending from mean low water to 660 ft depths. It receives varying amounts of sunlight, so there is still some photosynthesis.

The bathyal zone – (also known as midnight zone) extends to depths of 3300 to 13000 feet, below the ocean surface.

The abyssal zone originates from the word "Abyss," meaning bottomless. It is the deepest ocean zone and can be at depths of 13,123 to 19,685 feet. The zone also receives no sunlight and remains in complete darkness.
