Personal Narrative: My Middle School Year

Superior Essays
Middle school years were rough on me. I only had one normal school year and that was my eighth grade year. The first day of sixth grade was scary, I was terrified. I knew who was in my classes and the girl who I thought was my best friend turned out to be a back stabber so then it was just me trying to make new friends. The first day of school I made a new friend, it was Lauren Millette we became close friends but then later on in the year our friendship sort of died down and we weren’t as close. It was until a few months into the school year that I met my best friend Ashlyn Cox. She was my other half and to this day she still is. Once I met her I started to love middle school and I thought nothing could go wrong until the end of Christmas break. My sister had her wisdom teeth cut out and was prescribed this medicine that wiped out her entire thing of white blood cells. At first we just thought it was a stomach bug but after a week of …show more content…
I have two main memories from my eight grade year those are: getting silent lunch for over a month, and the eight grade Outer Banks field trip. Our class was very misbehaved that year, there were serval fights that occurred. The teachers decided they had enough and started assigning weeks of silent lunch for fights. It was awful, I absolutely hate silent lunch that’s what I was looking forward to the most in high school. Our end of the year field trip was one to remember. I do not remember everything from it but I do remember going to the big sand area, it was so fun even though there was bad weather I still had a blast jumping and flipping in the sand. I also remember the last night we were there we had a dance and it was the best dance in all my middle school years. They had great music, everyone was dancing, even the teachers were dancing. It was a night to remember and I am so glad I got to experience

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

It quickly went from a nice, fun, vacation to a painful, terrible, nightmare. Just about every year before school starts while my mom has meetings for teachers, my dad takes my sister and I on a small, five day trip to different places. This year, we decided to go to St Louis. Little did I know that this trip would soon turn south very, very, fast.…

My years in high school were quite thrilling and adventurous. Starting as a freshman, I had no idea where I was going and what was going to be expected of me. Over the years I became involved with extracurricular activities which led to my primary interest I had developed in technology and the sciences. As a freshman I joined the Students with Future Interests in Technology Club, Spanish Club, and Robotics Club. These clubs stayed with me till I graduated high school and I have loved them ever since I got involved in them.…

We would have PE, music, and library. I loved PE of course because I always wanted to beat the boys. I wasn’t the best at music, but it was extremely fun playing the instruments. I loved library day because that meant our librarian would read us a story. That year was also really embarrassing…

The rest of the year was great to me, I finally saw the rainbow. I gained many new friends and I was/am doing fairly well in my classes. I overcame an obstacle of mine that was really large, and I am proud of myself for doing so. I finally got to see what it looks like when the clouds part. I went from being a stress mess to a straight success (maybe not success yet, but soon).…

In the Spring of last year, it was my Junior year, one of the most critical years in high school. It’s the year that colleges look at the most, also it was the year that I was in some of the most challenging classes. Mostly honors, a lot of homework, and tests to go along with it. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

At long last I have entered middle school as a 6th grader. The first thing on my mind was to join a sport with my friends. We all easily agreed on basketball, since it was the only one we knew how to play. I somehow ended up showing last for try outs. I didn’t let that get to me and I tried my best with my tutor watching me from the sidelines.…

The end of the day comes whether you have gotten up to do something productive or if you have simply remained inanimate while time moves around you. I have found that the present slips away while you are worrying about the future. We are constantly telling ourselves that if we just get through this, then everything after will be better. We forget to appreciate the moment while constantly reaching for a hypothetically more fulfilling life. Once we graduate high school, or get through a challenging class, or finish a workout, everything after will get easier.…
