There are some things that we want our dear teachers to know and some things we don’t. The top two things on that list that are pretty true for any middle schoolers. Number one, I did not fall of the chair to get attention. It can be pretty bad when you get laughed at by the class. But I only used this because it can happen for other things like getting yelled at by the teacher, falling on the wet floor, I can go on forever. My second choice being I did that homework, I’m almost positive I did. This happens all the time, when you assign us homework and that one kid in the back corner forgot to do it. That can be the most frustrating thing for teachers. It can also be frustrating if the teacher is like, if all of you turn in your homework tomorrow,

This is a non-traditional high school and based on the population and my experience during the fall semester I still think that there is a lot to do here for this particular population (about their age, legal and social status). Everybody seemed very committed to work hard to support these students. It is true that regarding working with them in regular sessions is a challenge for the counselor. I feel it is difficult to work directly with students as probably I could have worked in a traditional school. I am really interested in working with this population and I also feel that if someone wants to learn and understand the immigrant population in other schools in this area and other areas this is a great place to learn.…

The biggest connection I made with the texts is the importance of support and guidance during middle school. I arrived in America two month prior to starting middle school. Not being able to speak English influenced my performance dramatically. What I had not realized till I read these texts was the immense support I received in middle school. I attended a private school that my family could not afford through scholarships and a huge anonymous contribution.…

When entering junior high, we were constantly reminded by teachers, parents, and school administrators how different it was from elementary school. It was supposed to be the start of a transition from childhood to young adulthood, and though I discounted many of these sentiments at the time, looking back it certainly was. Talk swirled of who got their periods, who was wearing what bra size, and which boys needed to stop cultivating…
