Being in a middle school environment, strikes fear into adults and children alike. However true, a middle school movement only started in 1960 and began with emergence of ‘junior highs.’ Today, middle school’s serves as a preparatory institution for high school. Characteristics during development demonstrate a primary trademark of a twenty-first-century middle school student.
