After reading these sections on middle school student I now have a better understanding to the traits and characteristics that middle schools can have. For example in the reading it discusses a few traits that teachers may encounter with their middle school students, they may be moody, passionate, childlike, energetic, outspoken.. but sometimes with only a few select friends, quite and focused and lastly egocentric, convinced that everything revolves around them. The book also gave a good example that some students that middle school teachers encounter will have mixture of contradictions, crying one day because their best friend is moving away, however in twenty-four hours later they are giddy hanging out with their new best friend.
